1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using skilldirectory.dev (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund Policy (together, the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

SkillDirectory (“SkillDirectory,” “we,” “us”) is an online service. You can reach us at admin@skilldirectory.dev.

2. What SkillDirectory is

SkillDirectory is a searchable directory of AI agent skills. Skills are created and maintained by third parties, mostly in public GitHub repositories. We index, summarize, and link to them. The SKILL.md content and repository details shown on the Site are retrieved from the source repository.

We are an independent project. Listing a skill does not mean we are affiliated with, or endorsed by, its author, GitHub, or any AI tool it works with. All names and trademarks belong to their owners.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site or create an account. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.

You agree to give accurate information when you sign up, keep your password secure, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account.

4. Third-party skills and licenses

Every skill is provided under the license set by its author in the source repository. Downloading, installing, or copying a skill does not transfer ownership of it to you. You are responsible for reading each skill's license and following it.

We do not guarantee that any skill is accurate, up to date, safe, or fit for your purpose, and we do not verify the license of every skill.

5. Use skills at your own risk

Skills contain instructions and sometimes scripts that can direct AI agents and may run code, read or change files, or use accounts and services on your computer. We do not review every skill line by line.

Review a skill before you install it and run it only in an environment you trust. We are not responsible for what a skill does once you install or run it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

break any law or infringe anyone's rights;
try to gain unauthorized access to the Site, other accounts, or our systems, or probe or bypass security;
send excessive automated requests that harm or slow down the Site (normal search-engine and reasonable automated access that follows our robots.txt is fine);
upload or distribute malware or harmful code through the Site; or
use the Site to harass, defraud, or mislead others.

7. Our content

The Site's design, code, and original text belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. Skill content belongs to its authors. You may use the Site for lawful personal or business purposes under these Terms, but you may not copy or resell the Site itself.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment.

8. Advertising, and paid skills (if offered in future)

The Site is supported by advertising. Ads are served by Google and other third parties. We do not control which ads are shown and are not responsible for advertisers' products, content, or your dealings with them. Our Privacy Policy explains how advertising works and the choices you have.

All skills on the Site are currently free. If we offer paid skills in the future, we will show the price in US dollars before you buy, payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor, and our Refund Policy will apply. We will update these Terms before any paid feature launches.

9. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, email admin@skilldirectory.dev with:

your name and contact details and your physical or electronic signature;
a description of the copyrighted work and the URL of the material you say infringes it;
a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law; and
a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

We may remove or disable access to material and, where appropriate, end the accounts of repeat infringers. If you are a skill author and want your skill updated or removed from the directory, email us.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL SKILLS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SKILLDIRECTORY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ANY SKILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US$100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and some states do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify SkillDirectory against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs that arise from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or misuse the Site. You can stop using the Site at any time and can ask us to delete your account by emailing admin@skilldirectory.dev. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

14. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your state, any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to that venue.

15. Resolving disputes

If you have a problem, email admin@skilldirectory.dev first and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally before you start a formal claim. Most concerns can be settled this way.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, give notice on the Site or by email. Continuing to use the Site after changes take effect means you accept them.

17. General

These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You agree that we may give you notices electronically, including by posting on the Site or emailing the address on your account.
